AG 900 HD FAQ

Q: How do I set the limits on my AG900HD?

Instructions for PULL TO OPEN (Gate Swings IN Towards the House)

NOTE: The opener will be fully Extended when the gate is Closed, and fully Retracted when the gate is Open. The Closed limit is set by mounting the Gate Bracket on the gate in the right place. The Open limit is set by loosening the Post Bracket bolts and moving the gate manually and then tightening the bolts.

  • Unlock and pull up the Manual Release Lever.

  • Start with the gate in the desired Closed position, with the arm fully extended, and CLAMP the Gate Bracket to the gate. Don't drill and bolt yet.

  • Open the gate until the opener arm is fully retracted.

  • Push down the release lever to lock the opener.

  • Loosen the Post Bracket bolts and move the gate to the desired Open position and re-tighten the bolts.

  • Lift up the release lever and move the gate back to the Closed position where the leaves of the gates are flush and aligned.

  • Move the Gate Bracket if necessary.

  • Continue adjusting until it opens and closes to where you want it.

  • Drill holes in the gate and bolt the Gate Bracket to the gate.

Q: My Gate doesn’t automatically close when I use my remotes?

Q: How can I make my gate close automatically after opening it with a remote or keypad?

Another easy fix. Here are the steps to take:

Change Function P9 to set your receiver auto close timer to however many seconds you want the gate to stay open

  • Press and hold the FUN button until the display lights up

  • Press and release INC+ until the display says P9

  • Press and release FUN to see the value for P9 (default is 0 which means it will not auto close)

  • Press and release INC+ until it says 30 or more seconds

  • Press and release FUN to save the setting

Note: Function P6 sets the auto close timer for the Exit sensor

Q: Why is only one side of my gate opening?

This could be because Function PC on the control board defaults to 03 which allows different remote transmitter buttons to open one side or both sides.

Suggestion: Change PC to 02 for a double gate or 01 for a single gate.

  • Press and hold the FUN button until the display lights up and says P0

  • Press and release INC+ until the display says PC

  • Press and release FUN to see the value for PC (default is 03)

  • Press and release INC+ until it says 02 for a double gate or 01 for a single gate

  • Press and release FUN to save the setting

Q: Why doesn't the Exit Wand open the gate?

Theres a few things you can try…

  • You can try to turn off the power to the control board for a few minutes. After turning it back on, wait a bit and let the exit wand “recalibrate” itself.

  • Try to put your exit wand in a piece of conduit.

  • Try to put your exit wand in sand instead of dirt.

Q: How can I make my gate open and close faster?

Easy, just change the setting for high speed running time.

  • Press and hold the FUN button until the display lights up

  • Press and release INC+ until the display says P5

  • Press and release FUN to see the value for P5 (default is 5 seconds of high speed)

  • Press and release INC+ until it says 11

  • Press and release FUN to save the setting

Tip: Try it at 11 seconds and work either up or down from there
